Anita Thornton entered this life October 11, 1927 to Grover C. and Ocie
(Henchey) Parker in Davis, Oklahoma. She entered into rest July 14,
2008 at her home at the age of 80 years.
Anita grew up in Davis, Oklahoma and graduated from Davis High School.
She and Jack Thornton were married January 29, 1944 at the First
Methodist Church in Davis, Oklahoma. She and Jack owned and operated an
appliance store in Sulphur for many years. Anita loved her family very
much. She said if she could have chosen the mates for her children and
grandchildren, it would have been the ones they chose.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Ocie Parker; one
brother, Carl Parker; special friend, Wanda McBee; and great
grandchildren, Cami Elaine Smith. She is survived by her husband, Jack
Thornton; son, Buddy Jack Thornton and wife, Martha, of Sulphur,
Oklahoma; daughter, Vickie Cooper and husband, Chuck of Davis, Oklahoma;
four grandchildren, Charlie Cooper of Davis, Oklahoma, Devin Smith of
Edmond, Oklahoma, Tommie Ann Garrison of Davis, Oklahoma, and Erin
Crawford, of Chickasha, Oklahoma; and seven great grandchildren. |
