Vernon Ray Hasten
entered this life March 22, 1923 to M.M. and Katie (Robertson) Hasten in
Hugo, Oklahoma. He entered into rest July 9, 2008 in Davis, Oklahoma
age the age of 85 years.
Vernon grew up in Pauls
Valley, Oklahoma and graduated from Whitebead High School. He and Dorothy
Nelson were married and of that union Donnie Ray was born. He later
married Viola Katie (Hobbs) Eaves. Vernon retired from Sooner Rock Crushers as
bin operator. He moved to the Sulphur and Davis areas in the 1950’s
where he remained until his death.
He was preceded in death
by his parents, M. M. and Katie Hasten; one step-son, Roy Eaves; five
brothers, Curtis, Ernest, Horse, Frank, and Loy; and two sisters,
Florence and Aline. He is survived by one son, Donnie Hasten
and wife, Julie, of Davis, Oklahoma; three step-sons, David Eaves, Dean Eaves of Davis, Oklahoma, and
Ricky Eaves of McAlister, Oklahoma; one step-daughter, Linda Eaves of
Davis, Oklahoma; one niece, Sue Ann Goodman of Oklahoma City;
granddaughters Rachel and Tarrah of Sulphur, Oklahoma; and many other
loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. |
