Ruth Elliott

April 10, 1938 ~ July 15, 2008

Ruth Elliott entered this life April 10, 1938 to Jake and Sarah Francis ‘Fannie’(Smith) Ashley in Ardmore, Oklahoma.  She entered into rest July 15, 2008 in Ardmore, Oklahoma at the age of 70 years. 

Ruth grew up and attended school in Ardmore.  In 1956, she and Jesse ‘Chic’ Elliott were married in Gainesville, Texas and made their home and raised their family in Ardmore.  After Chic’s death in 1992, she moved to Davis, Oklahoma where she worker as bank teller at the Landmark Bank.  Her family was her life. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse ‘Chic’ Elliott; one daughter, 7 year old Kendra Elliott; parents, Jake and Fannie Ashley; two brothers, James Ashley and Hershel Ashley; and one sister, Mary Ford.  

She is survived by one son, Larry Elliott and wife, Erin, of Davis, Oklahoma; one daughter, Karen Cormier and husband, Charles, of Davis, Oklahoma; one sister, Laverne Granger of Orangefield, Texas; sister-in-law,  Mary Ann Ashley of Ardmore, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Wayne Ford of Orangefield, Texas; special nieces, Donna Cranmore of South Dakota and Donna Ford of Orangefield, Texas’ six grandchildren, Jacob Elliott and wife Haylie,  Lacee Elliott, Eric Cormier, Justin McCloskey, Trevor Elliott, Luke Sparks all of Davis, Oklahoma; and many special friends.

Service: 10:00 AM, Friday, July 18, 2008; Midway Hill Baptist Church, Sulphur, Oklahoma

Interment:  Rose Hill Cemetery, Ardmore, Oklahoma
